Dr. Ruth Kaplan Treiber graduated from Cornell University’s College of Arts and Sciences in Ithaca, N.Y. and received her MD degree from Cornell University Medical College (now Weill Cornell) in New York City. After two years of Internal Medicine residency at The New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center, she completed her training with a 3-year residency in dermatology at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center (now New York Presbyterian/Columbia). She is board-certified in Dermatology. Since 1983 she has been in active clinical practice in Rye, New York. In 1993 she was joined in practice by Dr. Eric Treiber, her husband, who is board-certified in Dermatology as well as in Internal Medicine.
Dr. Ruth Treiber is an Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University and an Associate Attending in Dermatology at New York Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center in NYC. She has been involved in the education of dermatology and medical residents and students for decades, and attends frequent continuing education conferences. She is an active member of the voluntary teaching faculty within Columbia’s Department of Dermatology, dealing with medical education.
In addition to being a board-certified dermatologist (The American Board of Dermatology), Dr. Ruth Treiber is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, a member of the Westchester County Medical Society, and supports several other professional organizations. She has been listed for many years in ‘The Best New York Metro Area Doctors’ (Castle-Connolly Medical Ltd.), in New York Magazine’s ‘The Best Doctors in New York’, and in Westchester Magazine’s ‘The Best Doctors in Westchester’. Dr. Ruth Treiber’s main areas of interest include treatments for and prevention of aging or sun-damaged skin (including Botox/neuromodulators, IPL, Fraxel laser), acne, rosacea, skin cancer detection and prevention, and ongoing patient education to enhance optimal skin health and appearance.
